The Islanders did not have any more defensive zone exits than they did in the last two years, leaving it open to argue that there might be some regression or of the defensemen in defensive zone. But I think this is unlikely. A breakdown of the numbers from past two years show that their average defensive zone exit was 2.6 seconds lower with Thomas Hickey playing more than John Tavares.
